Welcome to June!
After months of sharpening our cooking skills, taking online tours and fitness classes and watching a lot of Netflix, we are finally able to embrace a glorious community again, albeit whilst still respecting the social distancing practices that are still in place.
However, we can still go out and enjoy the elements!
This month, although events are still on hold, we have put together a fun list of things to do in our community, whilst supporting local business, now that the restrictions have lifted.
We hope you enjoy our fun round up for the month of June.
Stay well and healthy!
CATCH UP WITH FRIENDS FOR BRUNCH OR LUNCH AT MORRIS + HEATH
When: 7am-2pm, From June 1st 2020
Where: 13/24 Old Geelong Road, Hoppers Crossing
Cost: View Menu For Pricing
No matter where you go, people want good coffee, good food and good service… especially when they are coming out of isolation and haven’t seen their friends or family for ages.
Fortunately, this is the mantra of Morris and Heath’s owners, Monique and Michelle Moussi. And at their cafe, you get a decent flat white over the morning paper, an approachable menu and a door-is-always-open vibe.
The goal was a cafe that drew a crowd of instant regulars, so there’s nothing superficial or unnecessary here. It’s just comfortable and serves amazing food.
Having established their industry presence eastside with their other siblings at 30 Mill Espresso in Malvern East and Collective Espresso (since sold) and Miss Frank in Camberwell, Monique and Michelle wanted to find a different market.
The menu came easily. It’s based on the most popular items at their other cafes. There’s a buttermilk-fried-chicken burger and chilli scrambled eggs with bacon, fried shallots, Vietnamese mint, coriander and parmesan on sourdough. Yum!

TAKE IN THE SIGHTS AT K ROAD CLIFFS
When: 10am-5pm, From Monday, June 1st 2020
Where: 362 K Road, Werribee South
You’d be forgiven if you thought you had jetted off to the Northern Territory when arriving at this amazing destination – but no, this is in Werribee, just near the Werribee Mansion Precinct. The red cliffs, wildlife and lovely wide river makes you feel like you are on an exciting expedition in far away lands.
From the K Road Cliffs you can see the beginnings of the estuary of the Werribee River. Here the river has cut down into the Werribee delta over the eons exposing the cliffs, creating a flood plain through which the river flows on its way to Port Phillip Bay six kilometres away at Werribee South. Some good walks exist on the river with wildlife and great views in proximity to working farms.
This spot is really one of the most scenic and spectacular places that exist in Melbourne and a perfect place to spend the day exploring and taking in nature’s gifts.
